ITI#:  ITI is the International Tartan Index maintained by the Scottish Tartans Authority.  If you happen to know the ITI number of your tartan, please feel free to include it (it can help especially if you are requesting a rare or unusual tartan).  But if you don't know it, don't worry.  We can go by the tartan name, and will confirm the specific tartan with you before completing your order in case there are any doubts.

Color Scheme:  Most commercially available tartans are woven in one of a few standard color schemes outlined here.  If you are not sure what colors cheme you want, just select "not sure" and we'll let you know what is available.

Weight:  Not every tartan is available in every weight; and we don't use every weight in all of our kilt styles (for example, we don't use light weight wool in our casual or historic box pleated kilts).  Just let us know what weight you'd like and if that can't be done we'll let you know what's available.

Kilt Style:  Please refer to our Styles of Kilt page.  If you don't know what style you want, most men go with the standard style.  It's the customary form of kilt today, and what you see most often at Highland Games and Scottish events.

Measurements:  Please be precise here.  Refer to our Measuring For Your Kilt page.   And if you have any questions, please call and we'll walk you through it.
